Our penny loafer was created with two things in mind: versatility and comfort. It's the ultimate shoe for travel, given the ability to be paired with a sport coat or t-shirt and almost anything in between. We find ourselves wearing this shoe year-round—sockless with shorts/lightweight fabrics in the summer and with wool socks anddenim through the winter.
What exactly is loden? The color's name comes from the German Loden, a course thick woolen fabric. While in the original German, Loden does not necessarily refer to a color, due to the wool of the mountain sheep, the color tends to be an earth color—somewhere between green and brown. TheLodensuede paired with dark chocolate welts and edge stain makes for a sharp, plain-toe boot.
Combining a forgiving upper leather and soft insole/outsole tannage, the Traveler Penny strikes the perfect balance of structure and support.
